Eighteen months ago, Sheryl Crow was nobody.
Then, you might say, things started happening.
She put out her first CD -- and it sold three million copies. She played Woodstock. And she won three Grammys. When one's star is rising at that velocity, pesky things like concerts in Buffalo can get blown about in the breeze.
So it's not too hard to forgive Crow for canceling her scheduled shows here -- twice. And even easier to rejoice that this engaging singer-songwriter brings her act to Shea's Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Expect to hear most of Crow's A&M disc, "Tuesday Night Music Club," including the sprightly (but undisputably played-out) hit, "All I Wanna Do (Is Have Some Fun)" -- with its classic line, "I like a good beer buzz early in the morning."
Expect to see Crow's tangled mop of hair and her trademark sexy pout. But most of all, expect that she'll show up. Finally.
Our fingers -- when they're not peeling the labels from bottles of Bud -- are crossed.
