Former Amherst Supervisor Jack Sharpe said at a meeting Wednesday that off-duty Amherst police officers are volunteering their services for the town's bait-and-shoot program to reduce the town's deer population. He did not say that the town would pay them, as was reported incorrectly in a story Thursday.
In Kenmore village voting Tuesday, Salvatore Muscarella received 2,238 votes, defeating Patrick Bannister, who got 1,617 votes in a race for a two-year trustee term. Bannister's vote total was incorrect in Wednesday's editions. Also, Blasdell trustee-elect Kathleen Cole is a registered Democrat who ran with the endorsement of the Conservative Party. Her affiliation was stated incorrectly Wednesday.
