Trained volunteers are desperately needed to teach fishing.
Youth fishing clinics and contests are widespread and popular, but volunteers are needed to work with interested youngsters. Niagara County, for the second year in a row, will hold a Sarep (Sportfishing and Aquatic Resources Education Program) Training Weekend from April 7 to 9 at the Stella Niagara Retreat Center in Lewiston. A small fee is charged for written materials, but room and board are provided at no expense to New York State residents. Those interested may contact their local Cooperative Extension office. In Niagara County, the extension number is 433-6731.

The championships are the premier international track and field competition for women 35 and older and men 40 and older. More than 6,000 athletes and that many spectators are expected to be in Buffalo from July 13 to 23.
