SALES TAX REVENUES UP SHARPLY IN ORLEANS

Orleans County's first quarter sales tax receipts are up substantially over last year's figures, county
officials said Wednesday.

County Treasurer Susan Heard told the County Legislature the county collected $1,374,618.79 in sales-tax revenues during the first three months of the year.

The county collected $1,256,222.52 during the same period in 1994, a 9 percent
difference.
