MARINE MIDLAND TO SHUT BRANCH IN EBENEZER

Marine Midland Bank is closing its office at 4000 Seneca St. near Union Road in West Seneca's Ebenezer section at close of business on June 2.

A former Permanent Savings Bank branch, it is small and would be expensive to enlarge and upgrade to provide full banking services, said Brian Keating, Marine's western regional president.

Accounts will be transferred to the bank's Garden Village branch at 2345 Union Road in West Seneca.

Marine is opening a new branch at 4191 N. Buffalo St. in the Village of Orchard Park, and its existing branch at Union and Orchard Park roads in the Town of Orchard Park is being designated the Orchard Park-West Seneca branch.

Three other banks have branches within a few yards of the Seneca Street-Union Road intersection.
