Services for Robert George Nevergold, 79, a former Bethlehem Steel Corp. worker in Lackawanna, were held Tuesday in Brunswick, Ga. Burial was in Waycross, Ga.
Nevergold, who was born in West Seneca and raised in Williamsville, died Saturday (April 23, 1994) at his home in Brunswick after a long illness.
He was a lieutenant in the 82nd Airborne Division during World War II and returned to Western New York in 1947 to run a farm in Marilla. He later worked for Bethlehem Steel for 28 years. He moved to Brunswick in 1983 after his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, the former Lila Parker; three daughters, Martha Jane of Brunswick, Patricia Ann of the Bronx and Rebecca Holtwick of Colby, Kan.; a sister, Jane McGreevy of East Aurora; and two grandchildren.
