Services for James O. Grant, retired Town of Bennington highway superintendent, were held today in the Charles Meyer Funeral Home, 13228 Broadway, Alden.
Burial was in Cowlesville Cemetery.
Grant, 74, of Alden died Monday (April 25, 1994) in Wyoming County Hospital, Warsaw, after a long illness.
He served in the Depression-era Civilian Conservation Corps and was a World War II veteran.
He was a member of the Town of Bennington Republican committee; Cowlesville Fire Department; Cowlesville Baptist Church; Cowlesville Lodge, Independent Order of Odd fellows; Salome Rebekah Lodge; Alden American Legion; and the Bennington Senior Citizens.
Surviving are his wife, the former Viola Grant; three daughters, Elaine, Edith and Ellen, all of Alden; five sisters, Bobbie Lundburg of McPherson, Kan., Nina Lauderdale of Sumiton, Ala., Gladys Reese of Dodge City, Kan., Fannie Russell of Sublette, Kan., and Ola Howie of Liberal, Kan.; and three brothers, Chester of Hooker, Okla., Robert of Grove, Okla., and Dillard of Turpin, Okla.
