SACRED HEART'S TUK NO-HITS VILLA MARIA

Joanna Tuk pitched a no-hitter Monday as defending Msgr. Martin Assn. champSacred Heart Academy blanked Villa Maria, 8-0.

Tuk, a righthander, struck out 16 and walked just one. Senior catcher Michelle Dagonese went 3-for-4 with two RBIs for SHA.

In other league action, Julie Schork scored three runs and drove in three of her five RBIs with a triple during an 8-run first inning as Mount St. Mary's (1-0) pounded Buffalo Seminary, 17-5.

Niagara Frontier League: Melissa Streckweld threw a four-hitter for her first win as Lockport shut out Niagara Falls, 10-0. . . . Nicole Schultz drilled a grand slam and Lori Lick's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth provided the winning run as Kenmore East (2-3) edged Nichols, 11-10. . . . Desiree Prezioso (6-1) and Melanie Reed combined on a three-hitter and Kristen Pfeil and Tammi Mitchell homered as North Tonawanda (13-2, 6-0) rolled past Tonawanda, 13-2. Mandy Galas hit a two-run homer for the Lady Warriors (5-1). . . . Sue Krull pitched a three-hitter and struck out six as Niagara-Wheatfield blanked Grand Island, 4-0. Seventh-grader Angela Tylec had two hits, including a home run for the Lady Falcons (4-2). . . . Krissy Mamon threw a complete-game five-hitter to lead Lewiston-Porter over LaSalle.

ECIC III: Junior Nancy Marszalek (2-0) tossed a one-hitter and Iroquois (5-1, 4-1) got a grand slam from Sarah Radka and a three-run shot from Jill Offhaus to rout Springville, 18-1. . . . Margaret King had a gland slam, while Sara Bednasz added three hits to lead Maryvale over Lackawanna. Winning pitcher Meredith Mix tossed a one-hitter through six innings of work. . . . Missy Miller and Kerri Page drove in three run apiece to lead Amherst past Williamsville South, 13-8.

ECIC IV: Kelly Hnielewski had a three-run homer as Cleveland Hill beat Holland 13-7. Melissa Fleming (2-1) was the winning pitcher.

CCIAC I: Pitcher Kelly Hamernik tossed a two-hitter and Michelle Gornikiewicz stole three bases, and added an RBI double as Dunkirk beat Olean, 3-1. . . . Kristen Stayer pitched a five-hitter and Shana Kirschner had a solo homer to lead Allegany past Fredonia. . . . Charlotte Anderson fanned 10 and Peta Falkenmire had four hits and Suzie Plano and Meghan McCann drove in two runs each as Jamestown defeated Salamanca, 7-4.

CCIAC II: An RBI double by Shana Sek gave Silver Creek (5-1, 3-0) a 3-2 victory over Maple Grove. Winning pitcher Adrian Elwell struck out six as the Black Knights overcame the two-hit pitching of Kristy McNally. . . . Sisters Billie and Kim Patterson combined on a two-hitter as Falconer (4-2, 2-1) rolled over Brocton, 16-1.

Cattaraugus D: Kelly Dolan (15 strikeouts) won her 6th game, Amy Burlingame (three hits) drove in four runs and Kelly Fischer added three RBIs to power Franklinville, 18-5 over Ellicottville.
