VIOLENCE CLAIMS 3 ANC WORKERS

At least three election workers of South Africa's African National Congress were killed Saturday when they tried to distribute pamphlets in the stronghold of Zulu chief Mangosuthu Buthelezi.

Police Capt. Solomon Zawke told reporters in Ulundi, capital of Buthelezi's KwaZulu homeland in Natal province, that a mob burned one worker to death and shot another. A third died of a gunshot wound, but the circumstances were unclear.
