Richard A. Benz, 53, a truck driver and road construction worker, died Thursday (April 21, 1994) in Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
Benz, of Farmersville, was employed for many years by Linde Division of Praxair Inc. as a long-haul driver. Before that, he worked on road construction with Operating Engineers Local 17.
Born in Concord, Benz attended Griffith Institute in Springville. He was a member of Teamsters Local 449 and the Franklinville Conservation Club.
Survivors include his wife, the former Patricia Hess; two sons, Steve Crandel of Hollywood, Fla., and Brad of Farmersville; two daughters, Renee of Franklinville and Debbie Fields of Delevan; his father, Joseph of Springville; four brothers, Joseph of California, Jack of Plato and Kenneth and Michael, both of Springville; two sisters, Joan Schoepflin and Mary Hudson, both of Springville; and nine grandchildren.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Babbitt & Easton Funeral Home, 7 N. Main St., Franklinville.
