BATAVIA VA HOSPITAL TO HONOR VOLUNTEERS

About 300 volunteers who have provided 40,000 hours of service to Batavia Veterans Hospital will be honored at an awards dinner at 6 p.m. today in the Sacred Heart Social Center.

Paul J. McCool, director of the center, will give the year's top awards to Joseph Parness and Maryanna Sitzlow. Parness, with lifetime volunteer work of 22,500 hours, will receive the Superior Service Award.

Ms. Sitzlow is being acknowledged with the Outstanding Accomplishment Award for 12,500 hours. Also to be honored are Ruth Cobb and Veda Narts, who have participated in the volunteer program for 39 years.
