FALLS WOMAN ABDUCTED, BEATEN

A 72-year-old woman was abducted, beaten, robbed of her car and $60 cash Saturday, then left in a field near 4565 Creek Road, Niagara County Sheriff's Deputy Tony DiGregorio said.

The woman, a Niagara Falls resident, was listed in fair condition Saturday night in Mount St. Mary's Hospital with head injuries, a hospital official said.

The woman was abducted at 3 p.m. from the parking lot of Arby's restaurant, Main Street and Cleveland Avenue, Niagara Falls, by a young man who beat her on the head, took the money from her wallet and drove her in her car to the Creek Road area, Deputy Dave Warsocki said. He left her in a field and drove away in her car, DiGregorio said.
