HELEN KENNEDY, LONGTIME BARKER TEACHER

A Mass of Christian Burial for Helen M. Kennedy, 88, a longtime teacher at Barker Central School, will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 5969 Washington St., Olcott. Burial will be in Hartland Central Cemetery.

Miss Kennedy, who lived most of her life on the family farm in Appleton, died Wednesday (May 26, 1993) in Newfane Inter-Community Memorial Hospital. Since 1989, she was a resident of the Newfane Health Facility.

Miss Kennedy was a 1924 graduate of Barker Central School and was a member of the old Barker Training Class, teaching in the program for two years. A 1928 graduate of what is now Brockport State College, she taught fourth and sixth grades for 44 years before her retirement in 1972.

Miss Kennedy was a member of the Barker Senior Citizens, St. Charles Borromeo Church and the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Barker.

She also was a member of the Niagara County Retired Teachers Association.

Survivors include a sister, Rita M.

[Sherwood].
