Western Region swimming trials for the Empire State Games, originally scheduled June 25-27 at the University at Buffalo, have been changed to the new World University Games pool in the field house of Erie County Community College's downtown campus.

In another site change, open men's soccer trials will be held June 5 at Roberts Wesleyan College. Byron-Bergen High School was the original site.

This week's trials include open men's basketball at noon Saturday at Buffalo State's Houston Gym and again at noon Sunday at the University of Rochester. Scholastic men's soccer trials are set for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. John Fisher College. A number of trials are scheduled June 5-6:

Athletics (race walks), 9 a.m., Beaver Island State Park; scholastic men's baseball, 9 a.m., Fredonia State College; open men's basketball, noon, Buffalo State's Houston Gym; open women's basketball, noon, University at Buffalo; sailing, 9 a.m., Willow Bank Yacht Club, Cazenovia; shooting (pistol and rifle disciplines), 9 a.m., Genesee Conservation League; and open men's soccer, 1 p.m., Roberts Wesleyan College.

Trials for June 6 include scholastic men's baseball at 9 a.m. in Veteran's Park, Tonawanda; open men's basketball, noon, University of Rochester; and open and scholastic men's gymnastics, 2 p.m., Greater Buffalo Gymnastic Center, 1641 French Road, Amherst; scholastic women's soccer, 9 a.m., Brighton Park, Town of Tonawanda; open women's soccer, 2 p.m., Brighton Park; scholastic men's volleyball, 9 a.m., Penfield and Eden high schools; and open men's and women's weightlifting, 1 p.m., Health Club of America, Genesee Street, Lockport.

Other trials are men's scholastic soccer at 6:30 p.m., June 7 and 9, St. John Fisher College, and open and scholastic men's and women's water polo, 7 p.m., Buffalo State.
