JOHN C. PALMER, RETIRED SCIENCE TEACHER

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Kenmore Presbyterian Church, 2771 Delaware Ave., Kenmore, for John Curtis Palmer, 79, a retired science teacher in the Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda schools.

Palmer, of the Town of Tonawanda, died Tuesday (May 25, 1993) in Kenmore Mercy Hospital.

Born in Toledo, Ohio, Palmer attended Hilton High School near Rochester and earned his bachelor's degree in education from Syracuse University in 1936. He received his master's degree from Columbia University Teachers College. He taught at Kenmore West High School for 40 years, retiring in 1976.

He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity at Syracuse University and the Kenmore Retired Teachers Association.

A longtime member of Kenmore Presbyterian Church, Palmer formerly served there as an elder.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, the former Elizabeth Densberger; a son, Frank C. of Urbana, Ill.; a daughter, Elizabeth Tramontana of Sidney, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
