TEACHER BEING PROBED FOR DISCIPLINING PUPIL, 8

A teacher faces disciplinary action for punishing a second-grade student by confining him in an unlighted, windowless storage room, a school district superintendent said Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Seneca County Sheriff's deputies on Tuesday turned over the results of an investigation into the incident to the district attorney, who is considering criminal charges.

The boy was tripping other pupils in physical education class on May 13, according to Superintendent of Schools John B. Plume.

The boy continued to misbehave after being told to sit on the side of the gym while class proceeded and was then sent to a large storage closet, he said.
