Even as the New York Legislature gears up for the final month of its regular 1993 session, Senate Majority Leader Ralph Marino, R-Muttontown, has jetted off for an Italian vacation.
"It's strictly a private vacation trip," Marino spokesman John McArdle said Tuesday. Marino is expected back Sunday.
The Long Island Republican's vacation prompted Gov. Cuomo to cancel a meeting Monday with legislative leaders. With a month left before the end of the regular legislative session, many issues are in the hands of staff members or individual legislators assigned the negotiating duties by the legislative leaders.
