If it can't be Pilot Field, how about Griffin Park?
Two city lawmakers floated that suggestion today as the Common Council prepared to strip "Pilot" from Pilot Field.
Common Council members are about to direct lawyers to free the city from the agreement that allows Pilot Air Freight to have its name on the baseball stadium, in return for a fee. The lawmakers are frustrated by Pilot Air Freight's two-year-old, $15 million lawsuit in federal court against the city and Buffalo Bisons.
"They have their name on that building, and they aren't paying anything," Council President George K. Arthur complained.
Arthur joined Council Member at Large Rosemarie LoTempio in suggesting that the baseball stadium be named "Griffin Park" instead.
