A West Side woman told police a man wearing a ski mask attacked and tried to rape her after she locked herself in her car while it was parked in the garage Monday morning.
The 28-year-old woman told Niagara Station police she was getting into her car at about 8 when a man bared a knife and threatened to kill her. She told police she locked herself inside her car, but the man kicked out the driver's side window and pulled her out.
After taking money and personal papers from her purse, the woman reported, the man forced her to take off her clothes and pressed himself against her.
The man fled on foot and the woman, who suffered several cuts during the attack, was treated in Millard Fillmore Hospital.
The attacker was described as in his late 20s. He was about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighed about 160 pounds. He wore jeans, a dark-colored zippered jacket and a red and white ski mask, police said.
