Private services will be held for Frances A. Griffin of Eden, a retired library supervisor, who died Sunday (May 23, 1993) in Arbor Park Nursing Home, Eden, after a brief illness.
The former Frances Joiner, formerly of Clarence, was 91.
Born in Buffalo, Mrs. Griffin attended Attica High School and Genesee Wesleyan Seminary in Lima. She graduated from Elmira College and Columbia Library School in Albany, after which she became a medical librarian in Rochester.
Formerly the president of the Western New York Library Association, Mrs. Griffin also was a former vice chairwoman of the Genesee County Red Cross and chairwoman of the Gray Ladies Association. At the time of her retirement in 1972, she was supervisor of all but the downtown branch of the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library system.
Mrs. Griffin is survived by two sons, Webber A. of Cheektowaga and Charles H. of Orchard Park; and four grandchildren.
Interment in Attica Cemetery will be private.
