SECOND SUSPECT SOUGHT IN PARKING LOT ROBBERY

Theater District police are searching for a second suspect in a robbery early Saturday in the parking lot of Journey's End Suites, Main Street.

William Brown, 27, of 52 Willert Park was being held without bail Sunday in the Erie County Holding Center after being charged with first-degree robbery. Police said they recovered a fake .45-caliber handgun and a purse containing $700.

Officers James Maroney and Brian Strobele arrested Brown as he hid in weeds in a lot off Ellicott Street about 1 a.m. Saturday.

Earlier, two men attacked a married couple in the parking lot of the hotel and threatened them with what appeared to be a handgun.

When the woman tried to flee, police said, one of the assailants chased her, grabbed her by the hair and threw her to the ground, then took her purse. The second man fought with the husband, knocking him to ground, police added.
