A Mass of Christian Burial was offered today in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 18 Ellicott St., for David R. Barrett, 73, owner of Batavia Marine Sporting Supplies. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

He died Wednesday (May 19, 1993) in Millard Fillmore Hospital, Buffalo.

Barrett founded the business in 1954. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, the Batavia American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, National Rifle Association, Exempt Club of the Town of Batavia Volunteer Fire Department and a charter member of the Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Kearney; two sons, Michael and Paul; two daughters, Lizabethof Rochester and Emily B. Costello of Westwood, N.J.; a brother, John of Rochester; and a sister, Nora Cardoza of Santa Rosa, Calif.
