Services for George P. Costuros, who formerly owned a restaurant on Broadway, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Hellenic Orthodox Church of Annunciation, 146 W. Utica St.
Prayers at 9:15 in St. John's Funeral Home at 1456 Broadway will precede the service. A Greek trifagion service will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home. Burial will be in Buffalo Cemetery in Cheektowaga.
Costuros, 95, died Saturday (Dec. 29, 1990) in Buffalo General Hospital. He had spent the last four years at the Hamlin Terrace Health Care Center.
He came here from Greece in 1915 and started as a waiter at the Queen Bee Restaurant at Broadway and Wilson Street. In 1923, he bought Paradise Sweets at 1078 Broadway and ran the restaurant with his wife, Christina, until 1962.
He was a member of Silogos Dolianon Society and the Senior Citizens Club of St. Joachim's Catholic Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Sophia Kakavas, of Bayside and Jean Weinstein; a son, Christopher of Maryland; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
