Lenore E. Carmody, a former clerical worker and nurse's aide, died Saturday (Dec. 29, 1990) in Our Lady of Victory Hospital, Lackawanna.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Family Catholic Church, 1885 South Park Ave. Prayers will be said at 8:30 in Ray O'Connell Funeral Home, 2286 South Park. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Lackawanna.
Born in Cranny, County Clare, Ireland, Mrs. Carmody was the widow of John J. Carmody, a Buffalo police officer. She held clerical positions in Buffalo, including at the Department of Motor Vehicles and the Department of Finance and Taxation. She also did seasonal work for the U.S. Postal Service and the Parks Department.
For many years Mrs. Carmody was a nurse's aide at St. Mary's School for the Deaf. After working for the Buffalo Board of Education, she retired due to failing health.
She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of Holy Family and a member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Monsignor Baker 1043.
She is survived by four sons, the Rev. Emeric (John) Carmody of Hoboken, N.J., Dr. Seamus E. of Midland, Texas, Dr. Patrick J. and Paul F.; two daughters, Theresa English and Mary Nola; 15 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
