A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Church of the Good Shepherd, Jewett Parkway, for Kenneth E. Cott, 76, a retired employee of the University at Buffalo. He died Dec. 20, 1990, in Buffalo General Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Buffalo, Cott went to work for the UB maintenance department in the 1930s. When he retired in 1983, he was honored for more than 50 years of service.
A Mason for more than 45 years, he was a member of Queen City Lodge 358, F & AM, and its Masters Association.
He also was a past high priest and life member of Mount Sinai Chapter 293, Royal Arch Masons; a member of Buffalo Keystone Council 17, Royal and Select Masters; Niagara Frontier York Rite College 77; past commander of Hugh de Payens Commandery 30, Knights Templar; a member of Knights of the York Cross of Honour, Empire State Priory 46; past patron of Areme Chapter 722, Order of the Eastern Star, and a life member of the Masonic Past Masters Association of Erie County.
He also was an assistant scoutmaster with Boy Scout Troop 28.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, the former Marie Leising; a son, Kenneth E. Jr. of Ferrysburg, Mich., and two grandchildren.
