CUOMO NAMES MCMAHON FOR NEW CLAIMS COURT TERM

Gov. Cuomo said today he has nominated Court of Claims Judge Thomas McMahon of Buffalo for another nine-year term on the bench. McMahon has been on the court since 1981 and was a private lawyer for 28 years.

He has also worked in the Truman administration's Justice Department and is a Navy veteran. McMahon's nomination is subject to confirmation by the state Senate.

Court of Claims judges are paid $95,000 a year.
