FOURTH STREET MAN ACCUSED OF USING GOLF CLUB IN ATTACK

A 31-year-old man was accused Wednesday of hitting another man with a golf club during an argument.

Police said Letcher Potter of 541 Fourth St. was charged with a felony count of assault. He was being held without bail pending arraignment today in City Court.

Detective Anthony Conte said Potter injured another resident of the same apartment building following an argument about 8:30 p.m. Clarence Jessie, 33, was sent to Memorial Medical Center for treatment of an injury over his right eye, police said.

A domestic dispute apparently touched off the argument between the pair, and investigation is continuing. Conte said police seized a golf club, which Potter is believed to have used in the assault.
