Wyoming County is trying to expand its assistance to victims of domestic violence by enlisting volunteers who would either provide emergency temporary shelters or answer the 24-hour telephone hot line.
Telephone volunteers would be able to work from their own homes because of a device that can switch calls from the hot line number, 786-3300.
Volunteers will be invited to attend a hot line training course Jan. 26 at at Arcade. Training also will be provided to those who offer their facilities as temporary homes for abused adults or children.
Volunteers are invited to telephone Debra Archer at 786-2010 or Ann Zedonik at 268-7605.
