Murder and robbery took no holiday over Christmas in New York City as seven people were killed and several Christmas-related robberies were reported over a six-hour period, police said. In addition, a woman was charged with homicide in the death of her baby Christmas Eve.

The murder victims included a Bronx mother who died after she was punched in the face by her son at a holiday gathering and a man who was killed as he carried Christmas packages to his home in Queens, police said.

In yet another holiday incident, a Christmas Eve shopper shot two robbery suspects, one fatally, as they robbed a furniture store and its patrons.
