A Mass of Christian Burial for Lawrence J. Youngblood, 87, of Hamilton Street will be offered at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Catholic Church of the Assumption, Pike Street. Prayers will be said at 2:30 in the Harmon-Watson Funeral Home, 35 N. Main St., Castile. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Youngblood died Sunday (Dec. 23, 1990) in the Eastside Nursing Home, Warsaw.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., he moved to Portageville in 1944. He was employed many years at Carborundum Co. in Niagara Falls and retired in 1968 from the Niagara Falls Sanitation Department.
During the 1920s, Youngblood was widely known as a violinist and band leader in Niagara Falls. He was a member of the Church of the Assumption.
Survivors include his wife, the former Margaret Ryan; a daughter, Diana Bracchi of Minneapolis; three sons, Jerry of Ashland, Ohio, Paul of Wilmington, Del., and Lee; 11 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
