7 HELD IN CANADA KIDNAP OF TYCOON'S DAUGHTER

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Reuters) -- The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said Sunday they had arrested seven people in connection with the kidnapping of Cynthia Kilburn, 30, daughter of tycoon Jimmy Pattison.

Police also said they recovered a large sum of money -- believed to be about $172,000 ($200,000 Canadian) -- paid as a ransom, and the blindfolded Ms. Kilburn was released unharmed, 14 hours after being seized Friday from her north Vancouver home.

Sgt. Bill Sharp, a police spokesman, said three men, three boys and a girl would face a variety of charges but declined to be specific.
