DRIVER HELD IN 3-CAR CRASH; 7 INJURED POLICE SAY BLASDELL MAN FAILED TO HEED MILESTRIP STOP SIGN

A three-car crash at the intersection of South Park Avenue and Milestrip Road in Blasdell resulted in injuries to seven persons late Friday night.

An eastbound vehicle driven by Dennis W. Donaldson, 27, of South Park Ave., Blasdell, failed to stop at a stop sign on Milestrip, according to Erie County Sheriff's Department officials.

Donaldson's car collided with a northbound vehicle driven by John C. Biddlecom, 18, of West Canyon Drive, Hamburg, and then struck a second auto driven by Steven Pankow, 41, of South Quaker Road, Gowanda.

Donaldson -- who refused treatment for minor injuries, according to police -- was charged with driving with a suspended driver's license and several other vehicle and traffic law violations.

A passenger in Donaldson's vehicle, Fred Goss, 45, of Lake Avenue, Blasdell, was treated for back and neck injuries in Our Lady Victory Hospital, Lackawanna.

Biddlecom was taken to Mercy Hospital for treatment of a knee injury, and his four passengers also required medical attention:

Jason Hunter, 16, of South Park Avenue, Blasdell, was taken to Erie County Medical Center and later transferred to Children's Hospital for treatment of head injuries.

Darren Bish, 16, of Big Tree Road, Hamburg, was treated in Mercy Hospital for spinal injuries.

Biddlecom's other two passengers, Kate Soehner, 17, of Sheva Lane, Hamburg, and John Bagley, 18, of Countryside Lane, Orchard Park, were treated for minor injuries at local hospitals and released.

Pankow was treated for neck pain at Our Lady of Victory Hospital and released.
