I have to agree with Bruce Smith that he deserves the MVP as in "Most Vain Player" in the NFL hands down. There is no denying the man's phenomenal athletic ability, and he probably rates as the best defensive player in the league. However, he should let his play do the talking, because every time he opens his mouth, he embarrasses himself and his team.
Bruce Smith has to realize that he plays a team sport. He praises himself and celebrates by himself, which must make his teammates feel like idiots. Against the Colts he completely ignored his teammates after a sack (which was set up by Leon Seals) so he could shake his fist in Jeff George's face. Real class.
As I watch Bruce zoom past Mark Gastineau for the coveted title of "Most Obnoxious and Conceited Player in NFL history," I have just one question for him . . What do you want to be when you grow up?
