LEROY S. GANDY SR., SEAFOOD HOUSE FOUNDER

Services for Leroy S. Gandy Sr., the founder of Gandy's Seafood House Inc., will be held in January in the Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian Church, 875 Elmwood Ave., with the time and date to be set later. Burial will be in New Jersey in the spring.

Gandy, 94, of the Town of Tonawanda, died Wednesday (Dec. 19, 1990) at his son's home in the Town of Boston after a short illness.

He was president until 1970 of Gandy's, the restaurant he founded in 1919 at Chippewa and Franklin streets. It later was moved to 2545 Niagara Falls Blvd., Town of Tonawanda.

Gandy was an original member of the Buffalo Restaurant Association and the Optimists Club and a member of the Ismailia Temple. He also had a farm in Ellicottville, where he grew organic produce.

Survivors include a son, Leroy S. Jr. of the Town of Boston and six grandchildren.
