Edna S. Rowe, 86, a former teacher in Niagara Falls, died Wednesday (Dec. 19, 1990) in the Odd Fellow and Rebekah Nursing Home, Lockport.
A native of Niagara Falls, the former Edna S. Coulson graduated from Buffalo State Teachers College in 1928 and taught in elementary schools in Niagara Falls from 1928 until she retired in 1969.
She was president of the Niagara Falls Lioness Club in 1973 and a member of the Niagara Falls Retired Teachers Association, the New York State Retired Teachers Association and First Methodist Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher. She also was a former member of the Niagara Women's Club and the Skating Club of Niagara Falls, Ont.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph K.; a son, Richard of Louisville, Ky.; a daughter, Sarah Jane of Amherst; a sister, Mildred Stuart of Lockport, and five grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Lane Funeral Home, 8622 Buffalo Ave., Niagara Falls. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery.
