The zebra mussel, already thriving in all Great Lakes and the Erie Barge Canal, eventually will invade every American water system, predicted Charles O'Neill a state Sea Grant agent, when he addressed the annual meeting of the Chautauqua County Cooperative Extension Association.

The association gave a special "Friend of Extension" award to Stanley Weeks, a Jamestown attorney. New committeemen are Barbara Hunter, Cassadaga; Howard Ivett, Villenova; John Brown, Fredonia; Betsy Blanco-Perez, Greenhurst, and Robert Thompson, Steve Cheney, Helen Graham, Holly Wood and Dawn Brentley, all of Jamestown. They will meet in January to elect a president.
