CONVENIENCE STORE CLERK TURNS OVER CASH TO ROBBER

A man who claimed to have a handgun robbed a Cumberland Farms convenience store of an undisclosed amount of money this morning, police said.

The suspect, who was wearing a ski mask, robbed the store at 2756 Bailey Ave. about 10:30 a.m., Lt. George Gasper of the robbery squad said. The thief then ran from the store, holding store proceeds in a bag, police said.

The robber never displayed a weapon but told the clerk he had a gun tucked in the back of his pants, the clerk told police. No one was injured.

"The clerk looked like he was a little stunned," a detective said.
