The Victoria Heights subdivision is causing water problems for an Elmwood Avenue neighborhood, Nancy Underhill told the East Aurora Village Board Monday.

Mrs. Underhill said she had no water in her basement until the top of the hill behind her was cleared for the development. Many of her neighbors have similar problems, she added.

She said she complained to the Town of Aurora and was told it was a village problem.

Trustee Donald Meade said the engineering firm that designed the subdivision's drainage system had promised there would be less runoff than in the past.

John Urban, superintendent of public works, said he will investigate at the next heavy rainfall but his recent checks have indicated that the system is containing run off as it should.

The board also authorized the mayor to sign a $56,000 agreement with Malcolm Pirnie Inc. for designing a new water tank on Glenridge Road.
