ALLEGANY SHERIFF'S DEPT. CONTINUES PROBE OF HANGING

The Allegany County Sheriff's Department is continuing its investigation into the death of a 16-year-old boy who hanged himself in the county jail.

Kenneth Schrader of Andover died Friday in the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo. The boy was admitted early Wednesday after he was discovered hanging in his cell.

Schrader had been in the jail since Dec. 9, charged with third-degree assault and fourth-degree attempted criminal mischief for separate incidents Dec. 9 in Wellsville.

Allegany Sheriff Lawrence Scholes and Lt. Karl Graves are in charge of the
investigation.
