CHARLES C. OTIS

A Mass of Christian Burial for Charles C. Otis, who recently was promoted to supervisor of data operations for Occidental Chemical Corp., will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. John de LaSalle Catholic Church, 8469 Buffalo Ave.

The Mass will follow prayers at 9 in the Lane Funeral Home, 8622 Buffalo Ave. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston.

Otis, 51, of Hennepin Avenue, died Thursday (Dec. 13, 1990) while visiting Tulsa, Okla.

A native of Erie, Pa., he served with the U.S. Air Force in Japan and Niagara Falls from 1957 to 1962. He was an airman first class.

He moved to Niagara Falls in 1961 and joined the former Hooker Chemicals & Plastics Corp. in 1963, continuing to work for its successor, Occidental Chemical. Upon his promotion to supervisor of data operations, Otis was assigned to Occidental's Corporate Data Center in Tulsa, where he planned to move. He had been the company's data processing manager here.

Otis was a member of the Oxy Bowling League and St. John de LaSalle Catholic Church. He also was an avid hunter.

Survivors include his wife, the former Janet George; two sons, Charles P. and James M., and a brother, Robert D. of Erie.
