William Pearce was installed as president of the Grand Island Builders' Association by Granson Geis, president of the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce, at the association's annual Christmas dinner dance at the Buffalo Launch Club last week.

Pearce returns for a second term and is joined by his officers: John Stickl, vice president; Donna Tisdale, secretary; and Mary Lynn Lenz, treasurer.

The board of directors will include Sylvester Barone, Robert Weaver, Ronald Grimm, Richard Lent, George Doermer, Arthur Mazenauer and Robert Villani, honorary director.

In the president's remarks, Pearce reviewed some of the issues that affect the building and development community on Grand Island and throughout Western New York, ranging from wetlands to building moratorium.

The association will sponsor a home show in the fall of 1991 at Woodstream Meadows, a Weaver development.

Last year's "Island '90 Show of Homes" received an advertising excellence award from the Northeast Classified Advertising Manager's Association for its real estate advertisements in The Buffalo News Home Finder.
