Norstar Bank has announced that its Buffalo regional president, Robert B. Mayer, will retire after 35 years of service. He joined the bank in 1956 and worked his way up from assistant secretary to executive vice president in 1972. He was named to his current post in 1987. He is a trustee of Trocaire College and an instructor at the Bank Management Institute at the University at Buffalo.
Mayer is involved in numerous community organizations, including the United Way and the Horizons Waterfront Commission. He sits on the board of directors of Buffalo Place Inc., Erie Community College Foundation Inc. and the National Conference of Christians and Jews. Mayer is a graduate of the University at Buffalo and Rutgers University Stonier Graduate School of Banking.
Saperston & Day, a Buffalo law firm, has elected Frank T. Gaglione managing director. He has been with the firm since 1969 and specializes in commercial and construction litigation.
The firm also named Donald S. Day, Lawrence J. Gallick, William G. Gandy, Neil A. Goldberg, James W. Gresens and Frederick A. Wolf members of its board of directors.
In addition, Saperston & Day has announced that Patrick S. Kenney, Stephen E. Barnes, Francis L. Gorman III, Scott R. Jeanette, Mary B. Casey, Jan Robert McConnaughey and Timothy L. Kane have become associated with the firm.
The William Coppola Agency Inc., 3625 Seneca St., West Seneca, has named Donald L. Maricle president of its newly formed life insurance and financial planning firm, C&M Capital Resources Inc. Maricle previously served as vice president of the Coppola agency.
He is president of the New York State Life Underwriters Association and is past president of the Buffalo Life Underwriters.
