BELLEVUE FIRE DIST. VOTE OKS PUMPER TRUCK PURCHASE

Residents in the Bellevue Fire District in Cheektowaga Wednesday authorized a $275,000 expenditure for a new pumper truck to replace one in service since 1967.

Fire District Chairman Dell Reitz said the vote was overwhelmingly in favor of the purchase, which will be paid for through a $100,000 bond issue and withdrawing $175,000 from the reserve fund of the district.

He said the pumper, which will join an aerial truck, two other pumpers and a rescue unit, would be in service in six months at the earliest. The district will have to solicit bids for the pumper.
