We live in a society where most of us are the victims. We hear about the crime, but is justice ever done?
Recently, Roy Gladden was shot to death in his home. Gladden was a man who fought to clear his neighborhood of drug dealers and to maintain safety in his community. The police as yet do not have a suspect or a motive, but as an outsider, I see the motive is fairly clear. More than likely, drug dealers killed Roy Gladden.
I pray that this murder gets publicity so that our awareness is heightened and so the murderer is found and convicted. Gladden was a fighter -- an activist -- willing to risk his life to see that our streets and homes are safe.
We are all falling victim to crime-filled streets. We must keep Roy Gladden in our minds and hearts, and be strong like him, so that someday the term "victim" will be a thing of the past.
