ANTI-WAR PROTEST HELD AT GENESEO STATE COLLEGE

About 400 people attended a rally Sunday at Geneseo State College to protest against a possible war in the Persian Gulf.

With the theme "No Draft No War No Way," the rally brought together students, faculty and a Vietnam veteran from Veterans for Peace, who addressed the group. The rally was sponsored by the Geneseo Anti-War Coalition, made up of campus chapters of Democratic Socialists of America and College Democrats of America and the local Peace and Justice Group.

"The main thrust of the coalition is we would rather have negotiations before any violence," said Jeff Lacher, a senior from Long Island and a rally organizer. "We don't see the need for violence at all."
