I would like to offer a comment on Jerry Sullivan's column regarding instant replay.
I agree with Mr. Sullivan that the replay element takes away from the action on the field. Replays at times have on the other hand corrected decisions that would have gone unchanged, some of which may have altered the outcome of the contest.
Rather than eliminate replays in their entirety, I would suggest that each team have the ability to request three replays per game. To control abuse of even these limited opportunities, I would further suggest that if the original call was upheld that the team requesting the review would receive a delay of game penalty.
