AGAINST INSTANT REPLAY

On Jerry Sullivan's piece "No grounds for reversal of instant replay opinion," I am in total agreement with Jerry. Since the instant replay ruling has been in effect, there have been an increased amount of inadvertent whistles. Whistles are blown even though the official is not in a position to see whether or not a player has possession of the ball.

I feel that the officials are blowing the whistle to eliminate the replay booth's interference with the game on the field. This rule has added 15 to 25 minutes to a game. The instant replay rule is the catalyst for all the quick whistles.

Human error is a part of the game. I can't wait to see the day we get back to good, old fashioned football
