FOR PUBLIC RADIO, TRAVEL WEST VIRGINIA ROADS

I discovered a curiosity on a trip to North Carolina. During the entire trip through West Virginia, the FM air waves were flooded with numerous radio stations carrying the music and commentary of National Public Radio.

I thought that this was very surprising listening fare for what is often thought to be a state of "yahoos." Back in the "sophisticated environs" of Buffalo and Western New York, I cannot find an FM station with a signal of any strength offering this programming. Is this correct, or do I need to have my FM tuner checked?
