INVESTORS' GROUP ACQUIRES LOCKPORT'S UNION STATION

Buffalo-area investors have acquired the landmark Union Station, which they plan to renovate into office space.

David Zimmerman, president of the Lockport Historic Preservation Society, said Brian Yaiser of Buffalo is a "principal investor" and the others are from the Amherst area.

The fire-ravaged building was purchased from Miron B. Wasik of the Town of
Lockport.

Details of the project will be unveiled during a press conference at 6 p.m. Wednesday at 248 N. Adams St.,
Zimmerman said.

Wasik reacquired the 101-year-old, brick building at Union and Ann streets from the city after local officials and residents failed to raise $200,000 to convert it to offices and other businesses.
