Todd M. Chapel, a student at Jamestown Community College, has received a $500 criminal justice scholarship from the State Sheriffs Association. The presentation was made by Chautauqua County Sheriff John R. Bentley.
The son of Lynn and Patricia Chapel of Jamestown, he has a 3.91 grade-point average through three semesters. He plans to pursue a career as a police psychologist.
The scholarship is presented to one student at each of the state's 33 community colleges. It is awarded on the basis of academic excellence, financial need and a desire to work in criminal justice or a related field.
